I’ve gotten a few emails from people that are still running the 2.0.x versions of WordPress (which will apparently be supported until 2010). Due to a boring technical reason, the “User Levels” menu is hidden from the admin section if you use Post Levels 1.1.1 with WordPress 2.0.x.
You can download the release from here: Post Levels 1.0.9
Note that this version lacks features in 1.1.1 — this is due to the new capabilities introduced in WordPress 2.1.
Do not use this plugin if you are running WP 2.1 or greater, your waistline will expand and dogs will no longer like you.

Hi,
I just installed postlevels 1.0.9 with Wordpress 2.0.9. I also have the plugin Brian’s Latest Comments 1.5.8 installed. When postlevels is activated, all the post titles in the list of latest comments become the same (although the linked URL is correct). Might there be a fix for this available?
Thanks,
-cvj
Does it allow registered users w/the correct user level to post a comment on hidden posts as well?
Thanks for the cool plugin. On my site the comments within the hidden posts don’t seem to work reguardless of the user level. To me it looks like something to do with the structure redirection. I don’t know anything about how the plugin works but I do see where the structure changes just a little but for the hidden areas. When you click on the comment button there is nothing there for it to go to… That’s how my site is anyway. Its a cool feature none the less. I would voulenteer a little time to help getting a test working if Fortes needed it. Thanks again.
This plug-in causes 11 “uncategorized” pages to be created in WP 2.2. The folks at WP say that this page describes the issue:

Cool…
Nice!
Nice…
Any chance this will be updated to work with Wordpress 2.2x?
I could definitely use a version of this for WordPress 2.2, as well.
I found a small problem with the RSS. Viewing my site normally, private posts are hidden. If I view the feed in a reader, private posts are not shown. However, if I click on the standard Wordpress-provided “Entries RSS” link, it shows ALL posts.
Follow up to last…this only occurs when I use Firefox. This does not happen in IE. Is this perhaps a cache issue?
Follow up to the follow ups…please disregard, I am an idiot. It was a cache issue. I cleared my cookies and those private posts no longer showed on RSS.
And forgive the inconsiderateness, I never said thank you for this wonderful FREE script :-)
hey, I get this error when I install it:
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /www/htdocs/katarina/blog/wp-content/plugins/plevels.php:241) in /www/htdocs/katarina/blog/wp-content/plugins/BAStats/BAStats_logger.php on line 99
and everything had been working just fine.
also, even though I delete the post level on a published post, it just automatically gives it the value, making it impossible to make the post public again.
please help.
thanks.
This plugin is badly broken with Wordpress 2.3. Any chance of you updating it to support the new version?
I’m with Jacob. Installed WP2.3 last night and find that post levels kicks out a lot of SQL code at the top of individual posts. I’d love to see an updated version! Thanks!
I found and fixed the problem with WP 2.3.*. One of the SQLs changed to use an alias and the regex in the plugin were barfing. You can download the updated plugin here:
